Thomas has hired a Canadian law firm to ask the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland to change the World Aquatic rules.
At the moment, transgenders are banned from competing in elite competitions for obvious reasons.
“World Aquatics remains confident that its gender inclusion policy represents a fair approach, and remains absolutely determined to protect women’s sport,” World Aquatics said in a statement.
